My approach to therapy is empowering, compassionate, and focuses on assisting clients to gain insight in order to enhance their understanding of themselves and their situations. Together we explore possible ways to manage and relieve distress and suffering, and achieve lasting and meaningful change. Within the context of unconditional acceptance and non-judgement, this means clients can develop more adaptive ways of coping, relating to others, develop deeper connections, and be responsible and in control of themselves and their emotions.
I have over 25 years of experience working with clients. My approach is informed by an Integrative Psychodynamic understanding, and additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Grief Therapy. I work with both individuals and couples who are struggling with emotional difficulties and relationships.
