Welcome! I’m Maggie, a Registered Social Worker who deeply values connecting with people. My therapeutic approach is compassionate, holistic, integrative, and dialectic in nature: Encouraging you to accept yourself as you are, while simultaneously working to make changes to ways of being that are no longer serving you. In therapy, I aim to provide a comfortable venue for you to gain insight into, and discuss parts of your life that have become challenging and uncomfortable. Together we will discover new ways of being and behaving that are more useful for you.
When people learn that I am a Social Worker, they often ask if I think they need therapy, and my answer is always the same: I believe most people can benefit from therapy. We all get stuck. We all experience uncomfortable emotions. We all experience life transitions; and we all have blind spots that make it difficult to move through these experiences alone.
Together we will work on gaining insight, bringing unconscious patterns to the surface, and building capacity to work through challenging situations and emotions to begin making sustainable change. You have some idea of what you would like to be different in your life, and I may have some useful ways of assisting you on this journey.
