I am passionate about my work as an Occupational Therapist and have over 25 years of experience. I work with clients 18 years of age and younger who are diverse, with a variety of strengths and challenges. Treatment is tailored to the individual and family. Specific areas that I have focused on over the years include: feeding/eating, dressing, toileting, hygiene, as well as fine motor skills, play, attention to tasks, transitions, and self-regulation. I use a sensory processing framework to empower children and teens to increase independence in desired tasks.
As a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier and Western University, I began my career in a home care setting, followed by 26 years at KidsAbility in both the Early Years and School Years programs. At KidsAbility, I focused on the occupations (or daily activities) clients established as goals for themselves.
My focus of attention is on the client's and family’s goals and working together to create a joint therapy plan in order to move forward. I am very knowledgeable using a variety of strategies as well as community resources to assist in achieving these goals. I look forward to working with you and your family.
