Whether you are a child, pre-teen, adolescent or young adult, all stages of life have different challenges. Currently my work focuses on supporting children, adolescents and young adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties and other feelings of psychological distress that may lead to feeling isolated, stressed, sad, anxious, and overwhelmed. The overall goal is to help recognize and verbalize feelings, identify typical behavior patterns, defenses and inner conflicts in order to reduce symptoms, provide insight and improve daily functioning and quality of life.
I use multiple theoretical orientations and techniques such as play therapy, mindfulness therapy, narrative therapy, and bibliotherapy. Whether someone is struggling in school, at home, with their identity or relationships, my goal is to empower, encourage, and support clients in a safe environment so they may find their own inner strength and confidence.
Having first hand experience of walking into a room with a stranger, I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to do so. I hope my intuitive and compassionate qualities and creation of a nurturing therapeutic environment provide the comfort necessary to ease any potential discomfort clients may face when seeking counselling services.
