You may be experiencing a range of emotions as you think of going to counselling. You may be fearful or simply relieved. Whatever your experience is, know that you are courageous. Know that it is my purpose to meet you wherever you are at and work together with you in a way that is meaningful, helpful, and healing. Because all of us are unique, it is important for me to work with each client based on their personal needs. I want to tailor counselling to suit you. However, I do draw from a variety of counselling approaches and tools. Some of these include EFT, Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, and Narrative Therapy.
Being a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP) means that I am very mindful of being trauma informed in my approach. Essentially, this type of practice is grounded in a strengths-based framework that acknowledges the impact of trauma on our responses. It is important to note that highly distressing events can cause trauma.
