At times in our lives we experience challenges that feel overwhelming. No matter what is tried, nothing changes and sometimes things seem to get more cloudy, confusing and distressing. My hope is that through learning to approach challenges in a new way, and make sense of where you find yourself - you might find new ways of coping and growing. With a focus on integrative therapy engaging both the brain and the relationships we experience I employ a compassionate approach, seeking new ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
I work with couples, individuals, families. I have experience working with children and adolescents with a variety of issues with a focus on self esteem, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder. Other areas of practice include depression, anxiety, personality disorders, marriage and pre-marriage counselling, parenting difficulties and adult ADHD.
When you come to counselling, one of the first things we will talk about its authenticity. I don't do well being anything but myself, and I want to create a room where you can do that too. In sessions I think it is important to explore the whole range of our experience. That means that even though we might be discussing challenging, hurtful, and even painful experiences, we will find places laugh, using humour as a way to gain perspective and understand more deeply who we are and how we can grow.
