I hold the belief that humans are naturally wired to heal. Throughout our lives, we find ourselves overwhelmed with external circumstances and internal emotional states that may pull us away from living a rich, values-based life. I primarily work with clients on concerns related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, boundaries, emotional distress, intersecting identities, and relationship concerns. My goal is to create a collaborative environment and pull on the body's natural healing tendencies to build a relationship with the Self. I am committed to using a person-centered, holistic, and culturally-responsive approach.
I take a relational approach to counselling and believe that the client is the expert who brings a wealth of knowledge through their lived experiences. I aim to support folks in unearthing their existing strengths and developing coping strategies that are equipped for their unique abilities.
I offer evidence-based approaches and use an eclectic approach in my work, incorporating the mind, body, and spirit. I primarily draw on elements from emotion-focused therapies, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), AEDP, and parts work.
