I believe that the single most important aspect of the counselling process is the development of a safe, respectful working relationship between the therapist and client. It takes a lot of courage for people to walk through the counselling door. I want to ensure that clients get a very good sense of who I am and how I work so that the client leaves after the first session knowing they have been heard and understood - and feel positive about our ability to work together.
When individuals understand how experiences in their lives have caused limiting beliefs about self, they realize that those beliefs have put limits on who they really are and deserve to be. Once we address those beliefs, healing and change can occur. It is a privilege to assist someone in their journey of self-understanding and emotional healing.
