I am a counsellor and EMDR therapist specializing in anxiety, trauma and working with those seeking change to their substance use or other addictive behaviours. I use a holistic approach, combining somatic and talk-based therapies. Somatic approaches like mindfulness and EMDR help to process negative experiences in the body, building safety and grounding. These are paired with talk-based methods like CBT and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to equip you with tools for challenging emotions, negative beliefs, and other triggers. My personal healing journey has been pivotal in shaping my approach to counselling. I believe growth is ongoing, and the tools that have supported my growth are the same ones I passionately share with my clients, fostering their own journeys of healing and self-discovery. My approach is trauma-informed and client centred.
I believe first and foremost in building a genuine connection with each one of my clients. My priority is to create a safe and non-judgmental space, where you can feel at ease and be your genuine self. Counselling is known to be a space for hard feelings- which are very welcome, however, I also invite lightness and humour to the room.
