All of us have values and beliefs that are impacted and transformed by our lived-experiences, family systems, and societal expectations and norms; however, at centre of ourselves are core values that, although impacted, tend to remain stable. Sometimes they just need to be rediscovered. Often life’s experiences occlude our core values from us and in this way create unwanted patterns of behaviour, emotions, and decisions. Finding our authentic selves is often rooted in rediscovering our core values and sense of self and then using these authentic aspects of self to guide new patterns of behaviour, emotions, and decision-making.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I adhere to the best-practice standards as per the BCACC. Relying on current methods of practice such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and self-compassion and acceptance, I work with each client create lasting change that is aligned with their core values.
In addition to working with clients to address mental health concerns, I focus on helping clients with boundary setting, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, goal setting, and motivation. Learning how to create boundaries, build positive communication, and navigate challenging situations can be difficult, but I can help.
