I provide counselling services to adults of all ages and adolescents (aged 14+). I believe each client is unique and tailor my practice to each individual. I know that reaching out is difficult, so an empathetic, anti-oppressive approach to care is my top priority. I am trained in various modalities, including dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy. My approach is variable, depending on what you would like to work through. I often draw from many of these practices.
I have been in the mental health field for a number of years in various roles, working primarily with not-for-profit organizations in the Saint John area. To date, I have presented and published on many topics such as personality, attachment, executive function, substance use, and trauma- complementing my abilities as a clinician.
I know that the healing process is not the same for everyone and that rigid approaches to treatment may not be appropriate for all. I am flexible in my work with clients and continuously learn with and from my clients.
