I grew up in a culture where mental health was not given a priority and there was, and still is, a lot of stigma surrounding it. My passion for counselling came from wanting to give people a space to feel heard, understood and heal; to provide a space for safety, connection, appreciation, understanding and growth. I work with a wide range of populations and concerns, and welcome all who need a space to heal.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, direct, and gentle, with a lot of metaphors to understand complex emotions and humour. I try to channel positivity, optimism and strength in every occasion that arises and embrace an openness and curiosity to different people. My areas of specialty include complex trauma, ADHD and mood affect disorders.
Coming from a multicultural background, I understand that people live through their own unique experiences, upbringings, and values. As someone who has had personal experiences with mental health, felt unheard and sat in the client chair, I strive to be someone who can listen to peoples' unheard voices.
