Chronic pain, chronic illness, and terminal illness can impact every part of your life. You may struggle with your identity, feelings of grief, fear, anger, anxiety, or hopelessness. Facing health challenges can feel lonely or leave you feeling misunderstood by those around you. At the same time it can be difficult for loved ones to find balance between supporting someone with a chronic illness and taking care of themselves. It can be scary to watch a loved one struggle with a diagnosis, or leave you feeling helpless to support them. But what if you don't have to navigate all of this alone?
I was an RN for almost two decades before becoming a counselling therapist. I felt our healthcare system wasn't doing a great job addressing the psychological toll that can come with health challenges. I wanted to be able to better help those who were struggling to navigate these challenges.
My background in healthcare has given me insight into the common struggles and concerns faced by those experiencing health challenges. Facing these challenges alone can be scary. I'm here to offer support, whether it's cancer, chronic illness, pain, or a terminal diagnosis faced by you or a loved one. You're not alone in this.
