Notice: I am now accepting new clients with daytime availability and a small amount of clients for evening sessions. I work with children (ages 10 and up), youth and adults to build healthy coping skills and relationships within themselves and with others. My approach to counselling is to create a safe and collaborative environment for clients to feel supported, regardless of what they may be facing. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and as such, my role in sessions is to facilitate and support clients in developing deeper self-awareness and expanding coping skills to help them regulate their bodies.
I use an eclectic approach including providing psychoeducation around physiology and the neurobiology/biochemistry of mental health, as well as use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems informed, Narrative Exposure Therapy (Trauma), Adlerian, Somatic Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, solution focused and strengths based techniques.
It can be overwhelming to begin this process and that is why it is so important for you to find a Psychologist you feel safe and comfortable with. Please message me if you have an questions or go to my website for more information: www.turnercounselling.ca
