I am a registered psychotherapist with experience working in a variety of settings in the United States and Canada. Over the past decade, I have supported hundreds of clients in making important life changes including increasing self-esteem, improving control over emotions and moods, and gaining a better understanding of themselves. My relationship with my clients usually begins with the question, “How will we know when we’ve done what we’ve set out to do?” This ensures that we both recognize important signposts in your journey to recovery, however you define "recovery".
I borrow from emotionally-focused, and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) traditions and use ideas from each to help clients make positive changes to their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also provide prolonged-exposure (PE) therapy for those with PTSD diagnoses who are looking for treatment.
Therapeutic change is difficult—if not impossible—when we have our guards up. I promise to work hard to help you feel safe, understood, and respected. Everything else is secondary.
