At Compassionate Counselling, I provide therapy to individuals, couples and parents. I offer both psychotherapy and relationship coaching. I believe in the importance of building a strong, solid, trusting relationship with all my clients and respect the need to remain open and flexible to the differing and changing needs of all individuals. My professional style is relaxed, gentle and welcoming. I work on the principle that a good therapist is like a cast on a broken leg, there for awhile to support the injury while healing and then gently removed as the leg repairs itself.
My passion and strength lies in supporting individuals, couples and parents who are looking to build strong and healthy relationships both with others and with themselves. I draw on several approaches that include family systems, attachment theory and emotional focused therapy. I have a practical, goal oriented approach and I have 25 years of experience.
I believe that therapy provides the opportunity to build self reflection and awareness. This then allows for positive shifts in thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We are all wired for connection and there is great value in knowing ourselves from the inside out so we can have both a healthy relationship with ourself, and meaningful relationships with others.
