I am a clinical psychologist (CPBC1025), and founder of Aegis Psychological Services. Since 1995 I have been known locally as Victoria's "fear doctor", helping people with stress and anxiety-related conditions. I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Dakota, and a Masters in School Psychology from the University of Toronto.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with adults and youth. ACT is a research-proven approach that helps people relate to their negative emotions such as anxiety and depression in more productive ways.
Much of my work is with people who need to be released from the burden of post-traumatic or chronic stress related to work, crime, domestic violence and abuse. I use trauma processing treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) that reduce the need for talking through what happened.
