Hello, thank you for viewing my profile. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, my goal is to provide a safe, genuine, empathetic therapeutic environment where clients are honored and empowered to explore their emotional world. I work collaboratively with clients to determine therapy goals and implement strategies to promote positive effective change. I work with individuals, couples, and families using an integrative approach drawing from a number of therapeutic modalities tailored to fit client needs. I have extensive knowledge in the field of trauma (attachment, physical, emotional, sexual) and related conditions such as: depression, anxiety, self-harm, low self-esteem and relational challenges.
In addition, I have obtained post graduate specialty training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a highly effective form of therapy endorsed by the American Psychological Association and World Health Organization for the treatment of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). EMDR is also an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, specific phobia, and complicated grief.
Furthermore, I have acquired additional post graduate specialty training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an empirically based approach designed to help individuals accept, regulate, understand, and make sense of the emotions one experiences.
