I have been a therapist for over 30 years committed to helping people . One area I provide specialized services in is substance misuse/abuse. Are you struggling with your own use of substances? Do you often drink too much and want to change this pattern? Have you cut back your drinking only to slip back into old patterns? Are you a partner or family member that is concerned or affected by someone's use of alcohol or drugs? We can work together to understand the function of the substance and identify goals that will help you move forward in your life and reduce the negative impact substances have had in the past.
I have been working in the addiction field since 1990. Initially for 21 years as a program supervisor for a local outpatient addiction agency and following this have provided individual support and guidance in my private practice to individuals, couples and families. I have specialized trainings in couple therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
It is helpful to reach out for counselling to explore your relationship with alcohol or substances. This can be a proactive step to making sure you are in control and not alcohol being in control of your life. We can explore and understand your relationship with the substance in our sessions and help you move forward in making healthy lifestyle changes.
