I believe that you are the expert about you and that I will work together with you to find information and strategies that will help you to feel better in your life. I work from a trauma informed perspective that means when I work together with individuals, I consider past trauma and how this may impact your resulting thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I have a range of therapeutic tools that use with clients including certification as an EMDR clinician through EMDRIA, Polyvagal pactices, Mindfulness, and Deep Brain Reorientation.
With over 13 years experience, I have expertise in Anxiety, Trauma (small t or PTSD C-PSTD), Grief and Loss, Adjustments, Compassion Fatigue, Depression and other mental health areas. I have worked with adult learners, high school students, college students, children and the general population. Right now my focus is with adults.
Many times, our triggers tend to overwhelm us and we can feel that we are stuck in an endless cycle. Therapy is that safe place where resources are learned and obstacles are overcome. Often it can feel we are in a desert and there is no way out, but I believe that as we travel through these difficult times, we discover hidden gems and doors of hope within us
