Hello. Many people are negatively affected by anxiety and depression. However it's sometimes difficult to figure out why. Similarly many people find relationships difficult and complicated. Both psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) offer quick, effective ways to cut through symptoms and understand what is underlying our challenges. My work often employs short-term techniques, exploring thoughts and feelings around relationships, self-esteem or historical trauma, using a focussed and directed, but nurturing approach. I also offer long-term therapy when we need extra time to explore more complex issues.
I am an experienced psychotherapist who also teaches at the Royal Ottawa Hospital in the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy program for psychiatry residents and community therapists. I am happy to see new clients to help them understand and work through their challenges.
Forming, maintaining and honouring our important relationships can be difficult. But it is what gives our lives meaning, purpose and joy. In my practice I try to create a warm, welcoming space where collaboration, humour and work can occur. I am a registered provider with NIHB. I work with clients from all backgrounds including queer and BIPOC individuals.
