I specialize in the treatment of stress, anxiety, and mood difficulties in adults. I have training and expertise in assessing and treating depression, extreme shyness (social anxiety), chronic worry (generalized anxiety), panic disorder, agoraphobia, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, specific phobias (e.g., fear of needles, flying), and body focused repetitive behaviors (e.g., skin picking). I also provide treatment for stress-related problems, low self-esteem, and difficulty coping with life events.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an effective evidence-based approach that that focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that contribute to anxiety, low mood, and other difficulties. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an approach that focuses on working with thoughts and feelings differently.
My approach is active, collaborative, goal-oriented, and client-centered. I work with clients to develop a personalized treatment plan that will help them to achieve their goals and make meaningful changes in their lives. I am committed to maintaining best practice standards and supporting clients in developing new skills to help them throughout their lives.
