Shé:kon! I'm an Indigiqueer, trauma-informed and open-minded practitioner who will affirm your strengths and experiences. People see me because they want support with concerns such as coping with the world, anxieties, fears or intergenerational trauma. Or maybe folks have identities, behaviours and relations that no longer serve them: maybe they would like to cut down on drinking or leave a relationship or enter a new line of work. They are looking for someone who offers gentle, non-judgmental and authentic support that is tailored for them and their needs.
My sessions are a collaborative process in which together we find language and actions that make sense to you and your experiences. I believe in offering liberating and non-pathologizing support and my therapy modalities (EMDR, Narrative Therapy, ACT) reflect this. You deserve to have your fierceness, dreams, and your grief and anger honoured.
As an Indigenous femme with lived experience, I challenge those systems such as colonialism and patriarchy that have given us messages about certain bodies' worth.
