As a Registered Professional Counsellor and religious trauma recovery coach with a fundamentalist background, I help navigate the transition from religious to post-religious life. I understand the multiple losses that accompany religious deconversion: Community, purpose, identity, world view, employment (if clergy or missionary), and more. My clients come from a variety of authoritarian backgrounds including religious, political, and wellness. Together we explore the damage caused by indoctrination, developing a healthy & reality based worldview, creating a new identity, and how to build a healthy & supportive secular community.
I'm a secular therapist passionate about helping people recover from religious trauma. I founded the Conference on Religious Trauma (CORT) & the Shameless Sexuality: Life After Purity Culture conference and developed the Divorcing Religion Workshop.
