Your ways of thinking are unlike anyone else’s, the opportunities you have had- and have access to- differ from other people’s, the choices you have and the experiences that have shaped you are uniquely yours, and you bring to therapy your own set of interesting wisdoms, insights and expertise. If you are interested in a creative therapy practice where we invite considerations of race, culture, gender, sexuality, politics, and religion into our conversations to better understand the unique contexts in which you live and the trials you are facing, then perhaps this is the place for you to safely explore.
As a narrative therapist I am interested in learning the stories of your life in careful detail. From these details I will employ the writing of therapeutic poems, which serve as a creative collaboration between you and I to build a creative portfolio that documents the trajectory of our work with one another.
By looking at your life as a whole we are able to contextualize life problems as a function of the many things happening in and around you, rather than just accepting that "this is who I am" or "this is how it is". Your life contains far more than the problem you came to therapy with, so let us work to write new and interesting stories for the future.
