Are you looking for therapy in a serene nature-based location, with or in the presence of horses? If so, consider visiting us and seeing what we have to offer! It Takes the Herd is located on the outskirts of historic Pictou, hidden away on 3 acres of park-like land. Sessions are client-led and trauma informed. Sessions can occur with the horses, in view of the horses, in a traditional office setting, or in the online meeting space. For those not interested in equine work, we hope to open a beautiful traditional office in downtown Pictou (after Oct 2024). If you think we might be right for you, contact us for a free consult!
Victoria is a person-centred counsellor, meaning that you as the client get to set the pace and intention of the session. She will meet you where you are at and walk beside you on your journey. Victoria often brings in creative and nature based interventions to help you process what you are feeling. Mindfulness and grounding exercises will also be offered.
Victoria is a Canadian military veteran with 27 years of service and over 24 months of deployment experience. She is an approved VAC mental health service provider for veterans. She also has experience providing mental health services to children, teens and adults and welcomes clients of all ages to It Takes the Herd.
