There is a poem by Jose Olivarez, that I admire and the poem goes like this “my therapist says I can’t make the monsters disappear no matter how much I pay her. All she can do is bring them into the room, so I can get to know them, so I can learn their names, so I can see clearly their toothless mouths, their empty hands, their pleading eyes”.
This poem is so significant to me and it speaks to the way I support each person that comes into my office. I thrive to offer a safe space for you by listening and opening my heart to dig into deep emotions than sit so heavy in the heart. It is my privilege to witness people share with me about their “monsters” and courageously meet them together.
