The hardest step is to seek help when family and friends believe you can work things out on your own. Once clients have made that first step by coming in, I can help them work through issues that hold them back from living a full life. My focus is on compassion and empathy while finding a way through the turmoil.
I tend to use a combination of cognitive, psychodynamic, and attachment approaches depending on the nature of the presenting problem(s). With children, I use a combination of talk and play therapy type approaches to help with social skills, anxiety, and behavior issues while working with the family.
Everyone is unique therefore having an open mind in assessing each person’s needs is imperative to having a successful therapy experience.
