Hello! I have been a registered social worker since 2014. Being a child or youth can be really difficult sometimes, especially following the pandemic. While I work with people of all ages, my areas of focus are in supporting children, youth and families who are struggling to cope and need support to process their feelings and difficulties they may have, including a broad range of mental illness, wellness issues and/or social issues. This includes depression, anxieties, bullying/ school issues, caregiver relationship issues, and many more. While challenges can come in all shapes and sizes, you can learn new tools to deal with them.
I have worked in inpatient and outpatient mental health services in hospital settings, with children, youth and adults. I am experienced with CBT, DBT Skills, ERP (for OCD) for adults and for children/adolescents, Trauma-Informed Practice, and take a somatic (body-based) approach to issues or symptoms. LGBTQ+ positive service.
It is a great step forward to look for a therapist if you are having any challenges in life, or if you just need a safe and secure place to talk. I always aim to center reconnecting to joy in therapy and believe that laughter is important to healing. If you are interested in support, it would be great to meet with you.
