It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through a loss, relationship change or life transition, or changing a pattern of behaviour that is keeping you stuck.
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs last and focus on others? Do you question if life should feel somehow better? You are not alone here. My approach is client-focused, collaborative and optimistic, I view each person as an individual within a family system and can help with difficulties impacting clients biologically, psychologically, socially and spiritually. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term challenges for your mind and body. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a better life.

Feeling overwhelmed or pulled in so many different directions? Maybe, you feel unsettled, anxious or just “stuck.” You know that something needs to change, but are not sure where to start. Processing emotional pain or relational struggles by yourself can be very overwhelming. And it can be unbearably lonely. The people I work with are amid grief, or navigating tricky life changes. Others are struggling with relationships or carrying the weight of past hurt and trauma. I work to help clients feel what they may have avoided because it seemed too big and overwhelming.

First, my gratitude for your curiosity about my work. The foundation for all of my work is from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and anti-oppressive lens. I have had the honour of working with a wide range of people who seek to navigate through challenges such as childhood trauma, sexual abuse/violence, grief, intimacy issues, anxiety, and chronic pain. I have witnessed the often beautiful and life-shifting, but complex journey of navigating such issues and the courage it takes to do so. I aim to create a space where this vulnerability is met with compassion, safety, support, and a guiding hand if you feel you need it.

In this challenging time of grief, please know that you're not alone, and your emotions are valid.
After working with numerous individuals navigating grief, I've come to understand that it's never just about the grief itself. Grief often serves as a catalyst, bringing to the surface unresolved hurts, traumas, and relationship challenges, which can feel overwhelming. Together, we'll journey through the depths of your grief, seeking healing and transformation amid the upheaval. My approach is holistic, addressing not only the immediate pain of loss but also the broader spectrum of challenges that arise, empowering you to discover peace, resilience, and growth amidst adversity.

I have taken extra training in trauma, bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger management, and more.
Situations can come up that are overwhelming and debilitating; this does not mean you are weak or lesser than for struggling with your mental health. My approach is to work on a style of therapy most applicable to you. For these reasons and more I don't rely on one tool or model of therapy. My method is to trickle in different areas of psychology simultaneously. If something isn't working for you we implement another strategy. The goal is to get to the heart of what is distressing you and what is preventing you from living a life more in line with your goals and values.

Grief can strike at any moment and I offer a safe space for clients to turn to when needed.
Loss is something we all encounter at some point in our lives, and grief is our natural response when we have to say goodbye to something or someone we hold dear. The depth of our sadness reflects just how much we cared and were attached to what we lost. Sometimes, this sorrow can be so overwhelming that it becomes challenging to concentrate on anything else. It's worth noting that in many societies, we don't talk much about death, which leaves us unsure about how to handle grief—a part of life that never really goes away. Like an emotional rollercoaster; it takes us through a process of change that is difficult to navigate.

When anxiety, depression, grief, and stress feel never ending, we can find ourselves reacting in ways we wouldn’t normally or having perpetual frustration and disconnection with ourselves, others, and the world. It can feel like our situation, relationships, and mental health won’t or can’t get better. From both my professional and personal experience, I have seen the relief and power that comes from the courageous step to seek support and how connection with safe and supportive people can help heal and restore us.

I offer a very compassionate, non-invasive, non-judgmental style of counselling that comes from humble roots and my own spiritual path of grief and loss.
Sometimes life can feel hectic and overwhelming. Whether you're experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, addiction, divorce, injustice, stagnant decision-making, lack of coping, grief or loss, I am here to help. You seek harmony, you seek emotional equilibrium, and most of all you seek peace. I understand the intense difficulties of life you may be facing, and can help you shift from a place of suffering to a place of rational calm to help you manouvre through the storm you are feeling. In the words of Rumi, "Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you," and I can help you find new opportunities to feel better.

Grief Counsellors

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
