My approach is 2S-LGBTQIA+ affirming, intersectional, neurodivergence-affirming, collaborative, emotion-focused, and integrative, creating space for meaning-making and a diverse range of identities. I have 13 years of experience in health care, working with people of varied ethno-cultural backgrounds, and have completed Indigenous cultural safety/ anti-racism training. I've worked with 2S and LGBTQIA+ people in group settings and individually. (Please note that I'm unable to write a second letter of assessment, but can refer.) My office in a building that is accessible and a positive space.
Areas of special interest/ experience include: grief/ loss; end-of-life/ caregiver support; social phobia; complex relational trauma; neurodivergence; coming out; gender questioning/ transition; internalized homo/ bi/ transphobia; spiritual concerns; religious trauma; conversion 'therapy' trauma. I only work with youth who are freely consenting to therapy.
I bring a number of different therapeutic approaches and seek to fit the approach to the needs, preferences, and strengths of each client. My role is to facilitate people safely exploring emotions and experiences to connect with their own solutions, resources, and insights, with the goal of experiencing greater freedom and personal empowerment.
