Psychotherapy is about understanding those aspects of your unconscious mind that feel like they are holding you back. In other words, what is it that causes you to think and act in ways that you know are harmful or unhealthy and that seem out of your control? With therapy we have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of who we are, what internal motivations drive us, and why. This knowledge can positively affect the way we see and feel about ourselves. We can use it to change how we behave and relate to others.
Together, we’ll consider the meaning of your symptoms and present frustrations within the larger context of who you are as a person, what you’ve experienced, and how you relate to other people. Our goal is to make connections and discover insights into those aspects of your mind that shape you and your behaviour.
As your therapist, my role is to walk beside you; supporting and creating a safe space for you to explore who you are. If you would like more information or you would like to schedule a free 20-minute consultation please send me a message through this profile.
