My name is Anita and I am a Registered Social Worker and former Firefighter. If you are a First Responder- Firefighter, Police Officer, Paramedic, Corrections Officer, Nurse, 911 Dispatcher, Military, Probation Worker or a Front Line Mental Health Worker and are experiencing the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Injuries, I can help you. I work from a strengths based approach and I can help you build your resiliency. Together, we can work on a treatment plan that will help to develop your confidence as well as provide you with the tools to cope with trauma in your life.
As a former First Responder, I understand the challenges of the job. I work from a Trauma Informed Approach, and will help you recognize your own strengths, while helping you build your resiliency. Using some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy methods, we can work together to build your confidence and work collaboratively on positive coping methods.
As a former Firefighter, I can empathize with some of the concerns you face. You have some of the most challenging careers, you are Heroes in our communities, yet many of you suffer in silence.
