I work primarily with children, adolescents, and their families to address challenges related to attachment, anxiety, depression, family conflict, developmental trauma and emotional dysregulation. The individuals and families I work with often need support in processing and regulating complex emotions or navigating stress and anxiety. When working with children, I encourage caregiver engagement in the therapy process where possible to support and bolster parent-child attachment needs. Families who come to me are generally looking for support in building resiliency and a sense of well-being.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Child Studies from Carleton University and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto. With my background as a Registered Early Childhood Educator and a student member with the Canadian Association for Play Therapy I utilize play techniques, story-telling and art as methods for engagement.
I use a collaborative approach to engage clients and their families in care, pulling from their existing strength and knowledge to promote positive change. I am dedicated to ensuring my approach to treatment is based in evidence and is tailored to the needs of each individual family.
