I often say that I come to my work honestly. I know first hand how it feels to suffer deeply, not understanding how to make it better, and being surrounded by those who were as baffled by me as they were supportive. I am incredibly passionate and committed to working with individuals who are struggling with self harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety/mood disorders, emotion dysregulation and relationship challenges. Those who are wanting to live a better life and just don't know how to get there!
I have been a mental health therapist for 20 years, both in front-line and managerial positions across a wider variety of inpatient and outpatient programs. I primarily work from a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) treatment focus and integrate a trauma and person-centered lens to all evidenced-based approaches used.
My approach to therapy is a balance between accepting oneself and the need to create meaningful change. I bring an authentic, validating and non-judgmental stance to the therapeutic work and I hope to help you develop the awareness and skills needed to create a life filled with meaning and purpose.
