I have worked in the field of mental health for 30 years. This includes more than 20 years of experience working with individuals in a private psychotherapy practice. Said simply, I believe the intention of psychotherapy is to help people feel better and feel better equipped to live well. These objectives are determined by each person, as they consider their own context, influences, hopes and goals. I try to approach each person and each psychotherapy with intellect, curiosity, creativity and respect.
I have worked with many people experiencing major life transitions, trauma in its many forms, including loss, neglect, abuse, accidents, illness, war, immigration, racism and homophobia. Sexuality, gender and relationships are explored. Indivduals often seek to better understand their patterns of relating as well as patterns of conflict.
