I offer a therapy style combining evidence based therapies in combination with connecting with people on a human level and providing a safe environment where people can share and work through their challenges, struggles and successes. I have been in the field of mental health and addictions for over 8 years in both a hospital and community setting. Recently received training to treat PTSD. Currently I provided addiction and mental health therapy in a hospital setting and have recently started into private practice.
I specialize in individuals with substance use and mental health issues (esp PTSD). It is difficult for people with these challenges to find support without feeling unheard, unseen as someone that society does not want to deal with. I understand that mental health and substance use can be intertwined in so many ways and it is not as simple as addressing one.
My main competencies are therapy in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy for substance use and mental health concerns. I utilize cognitive processing therapy to help those with diagnosed PTSD, acute stress disorder or subthreshold PTSD.
