Hey you! I’m Dorothy - thank you for being here. I’m a social worker & psychotherapist who specializes in supportive work with children, youth and families. I guide humans to be gentle and curious with themselves, their stories, and their environments, so that they can practice new ways of being that are in alignment with their hopes and dreams. Sometimes, systemic oppression (i.e. racism, cisheteropatriarchy, colonialism, capitalism) can affect how we reach our goals. My practice is dedicated to exploring the ways in which supportive relationships can not only support our healing, but create more social justice around us.
I’ve supported children, youth, adults and families across various areas and practice settings. These areas include, but are not limited to anxiety, emotion regulation, mood & self-esteem, anger management, selective mutism, identity & self-discovery, life-adjustments, trauma, separation & divorce, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and grief & loss.
We work softly and gently together to find the right approach that feels best for you. In our session space, you will find connection, safety, collaboration, self-compassion, and even humour!
