Sometimes life can be challenging, and making changes feels daunting, and for young people it can be even harder. I specialize in helping children and youth cope with stressors and live their lives to the fullest. I can help parents and children navigate mental health diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, depression and ODD. I also support adult clients experiencing low self-esteem, child behavioural issues, trauma, family conflicts and parenting difficulties. I draw on modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).
When working with children and teens, I believe family support is vital to help create a positive and therapeutic environment in my sessions and at home. I include suitable play and games to tailor the treatment to the client's developmental stage, abilities and interests.
Therapy is a collaborative space, and I believe in an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and nonjudgemental therapeutic approach. With my empathetic and warm style, I aim to create a safe space within the therapeutic relationship, always honouring my client's autonomy. My sessions can be conducted in English and Portuguese (Brazilian).
