Hey, my name is Curt. I have been working as a counsellor for the past six years. The office I work out of is near Christie Subway Station. My main experiences have been with people with substance use issues and/or addictions, who are wanting to make some changes in their life. I am trauma-informed, non-judgmental, anti-oppressive and always support clients on whatever goals they want to work on. I have also worked with folks from the LGBTQ2S+ community.
I have a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) from York University. I am also a Certified Life Skills Coach, and have gone through a number of other trainings including CBT, Trauma for Front-Line Workers, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, and am also certified to administer the GAINQ3 Assessment.
In our first session, which is free of charge, we can explore whatever brought you to counselling, and then begin to talk about what direction we can take moving forward. We can also discuss what kind of therapeutic strategies might be best to help work toward your goals. You can decide how many sessions you need, and payment is on a sliding scale.
