Most people I work with initially seek counselling as a result of some form of suffering. Sometimes this suffering is specific such as symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, stress or relationship issues. Other times the suffering is vague, a feeling of something being off, amiss, or worse. In either case, I meet people where they are at, either 'getting to it' (so to speak) and yet taking the time for whatever needs to unfold.
My approach is experiential. Talking about something is just not as effective as experiencing it. Practically, this can mean focusing on the body and present moment experience. I help people connect to a felt sense of their pain and innate healing.
I am drawn to therapy because of my own healing and because helping others nourishes me. }My experiences (being a husband and father,r, 12 step recovery, and mindfulness) and training (Hakomi, Existential, Emotionally Focused Therapy) all inform my approach. I offer people help with what I have gone through myself. Looking forward to meeting and helping.
