The concentration of my practice is working with families who are experiencing conflict, difficult emotions, and/or concerning behaviors. How should we react or respond? What can we do to help and support? How do we make sense of these big emotions and behaviors? I work with individuals and families through a systemic approach that strives to develop empathy and understanding and answer these important questions. The core of my practice explores safety and trust using an attachment lens. Through these explorations, I have been helpful in fostering significant growth within relationships and family units.
In 20+ years of experience working with children & families, I have often contributed to change through an approach that emphasizes strengths and removes blame. Time as an elementary school educator, child & youth mental health clinician, and behavioral specialist has provided training and insight as to how people use behavior as a form of communication.
Additionally, I work closely with high performance athletes and athletic teams to help build resilience, strengthen mindset and improve individual and team performance. I have authored 'Mental Fitness for Young Hockey Players' and 'Mental Fitness for Young Athletes'. Both of these titles can be found on Amazon. Please reach out any time you like.
