In the journey of grief, nurturing "continuing bonds" with departed loved ones holds profound significance, offering solace, comfort, and connection in their absence. If you've experienced profound loss (human or pet) and have been grieving for over a year, I offer a unique therapy intended to help reduce sadness and foster a deeper connection with your loved one. Understanding the importance of allowing your mind to adapt to grief's natural rhythm, is part of this process; so we typically wait a year or more post-loss before beginning therapy, honouring the organic flow of grief, and trusting in the brain's innate healing capacity.
This approach aims to potentially enhance a feeling of connectedness with loved ones, yet it's crucial to acknowledge that outcomes may vary. The primary objective is to offer relief from feelings of sadness. Many individuals have reported significant reduction in sadness, and resolution of interpersonal challenges after just two sessions.
I assess suitability for this therapy on an individual basis, considering diverse needs and backgrounds. Sessions, totaling 4 hours over one weekend, are conducted online. Before we start, there's an hour for us to connect. It's recommended that participants are reasonably well-resourced to tolerate the therapy. If it feels right, please reach out.

Induced After Death Communication - Grief Therapy
IADC is a therapy for individuals, following the loss of a loved one (person, or pet). Developed in a VA hospital in the USA, the original psychologists were using EMDR to treat grief and noticed that participants consistently reported spontaneously experiencing some sensory perception of having had communication with a loved one (AD). This has been replicated with fair consistency. IADC's have been consistently positive, and interpersonal issues generally resolve. IADC occurs over 2 sessions on 2 consecutive days (Sat/Sun). It is only appropriate if grief has persisted 1 + year. I will discuss suitability, case-by-case.
