Hello! My name is Charmain Banton she/her/elle, and welcome to my profile. Life can be unpredictable sometimes even when we plan for the best and the worst of it, but even without life's unpredictability's we often find ourselves in situations that make us feel stressed, worried, anxious and scared. During these difficult moments we can feel very lonely and lost. However, most people do not want to live out their days in turmoil and distress but would rather choose peace and enjoy their interpersonal relationships. I offer the space to work through these hardships on-line in my new private practice.
Drawing from a few approaches I help clients focus on their strengths as well as the resources that are available to help them navigate their stresses and life issues. I use strength-based approaches, family systems, and anti-oppressive frameworks, having engaged with them heavily as a student at UVic, to develop a curated plan that is unique to each client.
I service clients who are members of the BIPOC community, racialized women, and young adults. Single parenting, mid-life career transitions, the after-math of living with a cancer diagnosis, work-related issues and racial identity are welcome.
