I am a Registered OT Psychotherapist. I have a private practice working with people who struggle with various forms of human suffering such as anxiety (generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD) depression, grief, interpersonal and situational difficulties, anger-related issues, life transitions, stress, chronic pain and chronic illness.
I have been practicing as a mental health counsellor/therapist for 15 years, working with family physicians, psychiatrists and other professionals. My practice is anchored in the larger body of cognitive behavioural therapies and includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, ACT, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, DBT.
Ideally, therapy brings us closer to understanding how we respond to the inevitable pain that comes with being a human being. We look at what we do in the presence of pain, with kindness, no judgment, curiosity. We asks ourselves if we can respond to our difficulties in ways that not only reduces our pain but also add vitality and colour to our lives.
