The focus of my practice is supporting Caregivers. People who are spending time & energy dedicated to the wellbeing of loved ones (family of origin or chosen family). It could be caring for young children, an aging parent, a sick partner, a sibling with a disability, a friend in recovery etc. I know from my own lived experience that care work has its own very unique challenges. And I draw on what I’ve learned, both personally and professionally, to create a counselling experience to meet your specific needs.
I know the struggles that come with doing this work: being pulled in all directions, losing my identity, having self-care feel impossible in the midst of the choas. And I also come to this work knowing deeply, in my bones, that we can’t show up for our people if we’re not showing up for ourselves. That putting ourselves first does not mean putting them last.
My hope is to create a warm, inviting space for you to come home to yourself. To remember your joy, to feel seen & heard, and to develop a sense of self compassion as you navigate this important role. Getting some outside support can help us figure out how to care for ourselves while we are working so hard to care for others. Looking forward to connecting!
