Clients who are looking for ways to make sense of their current communication, values, and coping mechanisms will find the space to do that here. Working through past experiences can help improve relationships, access to a positive sense of self, workplace concerns, and communication. My goal for my clients is to work together through past trauma and come to gain the insights and tools to examine behaviours independently.
My practice is informed by psychodynamic and person-centred therapy. I use a trauma-informed approach to explore past experiences and how they inform our current sense of self, coping mechanisms, values, and communication. Humility is the centre of my practice, I recognize that clients are experts on themselves, and strive to serve clients ethically.
During our first consult I will ask "I don't want to contribute to negative experiences you've had with therapy in the past. Is there anything I should do/avoid doing?" I want you to feel you can tell me when something is/isn't working. The only person who knows what is best for you, is you. Empowerment starts and grows here.
