When we work together it will be about supporting you in moving out of ways of being that no longer serve you in a helpful way and into a more connected, aware and preferred place. Collaboratively working to understand and shift the impacts that traumatic events have had on your life and building on your energy levels so that you can feel a deeper sense of ease, belonging and happiness. Be it parenting support, family therapy or individual youth and or adult sessions, together we can create a space that upholds your dignity and highlights your intrinsic strengths as we navigate changes together towards a more preferred sense of you.

Somatic techniques, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Hypnotherapy offer tools to invite deep, lasting shifts.
Ever feel stuck in a loop of frustrating patterns? Long for meaningful connection, but get lost in estrangement or conflict? Wonder why that joyful ease you occasionally glimpse feels buried under a sludge of anxiety, numbness, or anger? No matter how many "new leaves" we turn over — we find ourselves sinking back into the familiar muck. Here we go again! It's not just in your head. Pain and anxiety get encoded and frozen in the physical body, along with all the feelings it's not okay to feel. By adulthood, our nervous systems are hardwired to survive the situation we grew up in – and can get stuck there, replaying the same script.

I am very eclectic, but also apply CBT, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Family Systems therapies to help my clients heal their pain and suffering.
Sometimes life can feel hectic and overwhelming. Whether you're experiencing depression, anxiety, loneliness, addiction, divorce, injustice, stagnant decision-making, lack of coping, grief or loss, I am here to help. You seek harmony, you seek emotional equilibrium, and most of all you seek peace. I understand the intense difficulties of life you may be facing, and can help you shift from a place of suffering to a place of rational calm to help you manouvre through the storm you are feeling. In the words of Rumi, "Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you," and I can help you find new opportunities to feel better.

Everyone experiences situations in their lives when things do not work out as planned or desired. You may be having a difficult time in moving forward without the time, tools and support to do so in a positive way. Our emotional health is equally, if not more, important than our physical and mental health. When we are faced with trauma, our emotional health takes a toll and affects our ability to manage and demonstrate the emotions that arise from what we have experienced. When individuals and family members address and work on issues, which have been buried for years, they are able to achieve a sense of peace, balance and comfort.

In working as a Family Preservation Counsellor at a Delegated Aboriginal agency for 5 years, I am equipped in dealing with culturally-specific trauma, and retain extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, mood and eating disorders amongst all populations.
Only within a non-judgemental, empathetic, and warm therapeutic space, can people feel safe to open up and be vulnerable; I hope to create just that for my clients. I am a person-centred counsellor that welcomes collaborative dialogue with my clients as they discover progress, determination, growth, and celebration. Whilst borrowing from various therapeutic modalities to guide my work, I am an avid believer in the power of self-compassion, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Inner Child work. I am also trained in providing Emotionally-Focused Therapy for couples and individuals.

I utilize a trauma-informed practice, integrating elements from Cognitive behavior therapy for substance abuse, Bowen's family therapy and Emotion-focused couples therapy.
Having gone through postpartum depression, it was not easy to get back up on two feet. We are all struggling in our own ways, but knowing that someone is there to walk through those struggles and challenges to get to the other side helps in sustaining and healing through the pain and hurt. The past is essential for understanding the present and shaping our future. I work collaboratively with clients to discover their self-identity and navigate ways to explore their inner strengths.

The work I do is collaborative, and unique to the person, family or couple.
Life has taught me to never underestimate people, and that everyone has unique needs when it comes to healing, because we all have unique identities and ways of functioning.

Family Therapy Counsellors
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
