I have focused my professional learning on treating anxiety, OCD, internet addiction, trauma, relationship issues, workplace difficulties and other significant life challenges.
I view counselling as an opportunity to work with a specialist in psychology who can provide you with the knowledge, support and tools to help you improve your life significantly. I have focused on pursuing extensive training in treating a variety of life stressors. I have a comprehensive psychological toolbox that I would like to share to help you live the best life possible. I am a registered EMDR Therapist (both Internationally and in Canada), a Gotman therapist, and I have worked in the mental health field for over 30 years, a background in the Canadian Military, as a Municipal Fire Fighter, and First Responder.

I see individuals and couples for therapy.
I am committed to seeing people as more than just the problems they may be struggling with. I value conversations that allow the richness of people's lives to become more visible and accessible to them. After more than 20 years of practice, I continue to feel privileged to accompany people as they sort out life's difficulties. I see adults across the life span in relation to a range of life concerns, including: depression; anxiety; work-life balance; disordered eating and body image difficulties; sexual, interpersonal and workplace trauma; relationship issues; grief and loss; life transitions and identity questions.

While I work with a variety of issues, I specialize in supporting individuals and couples with relationship issues, addictions and mood disorders.
Therapy can be a transformative journey, one that holds the potential to foster feelings of radical acceptance and self-compassion, cultivate a sense of inner peace, and provide healing and care to each and every part of you. Developing awareness of yourself and your relationships can often be the first step toward creating change. Together, we'll identify your strengths, explore patterns that may be holding you back and give space to those deeper parts of you that have longed to be seen and understood. We will also work through any events or self-talk that may be creating distress or keeping you stuck.

Are you new to therapy, or frustrated with not making progress? I specialize in taking clients deeper than they have gone before to really heal and gain insight into why you stay stuck. Symptoms are of the same variety for all people, anxiety, depression, self criticism, relationship conflict, difficulty with mood or emotional regulation, obsession etc. However, underlying your symptoms are habits and patterns of thinking and the way you use defences to avoid experiencing pain and fear. I will help you navigate the labyrinth of how and why you think and behave in the ways you do to open up new pathways for living more fully.

Within family units, the need for each member to feel heard cannot be overstated. My approach to couples counselling places emphasis on effective communication while resolving damage done to the relationship by unfair fighting, infidelity or other relationship-based challenges preventing the couple from realizing the benefits of healthy coupling.

My clinical training, lived experience, and education will walk with you through your explorations in relationship, desire, intimacy, acceptance, and authenticity.
Sexuality, intimacy, identity. Addiction and recovery. Relationships and connection. Grief and loss. So many of us wonder how to live in our skin comfortably. Who are you, and how do you want to live? The next question is how to bring that authenticity into your life, your relationships, your communication. Sometimes our bodies don't connect with our hearts and minds. Erotic and sexual diversity is a part of the human experience. If you're struggling with shame, belief patterns that no longer serve, or wondering if you're alone - there is hope.

My adult male clients are men from Mars; they are dealing with marriage or relationship challenges at the same time as their work life is increasingly a challenge. My Neuro atypical clients need help navigating the conflict s between their hyper focused interests and their relationships with people that do not understand them at all well. Anxiety control is always an issue with many clients ; emotional regulation with somatic or attentional treatments of mood is a specialty for me. My married couples are trying to build excitement and connection back into their adult lives.
