Working through complex personal issues is most effective by sharing your thoughts and feelings with an experienced, understanding therapist. The answers that you are seeking are usually within you, you've just needed to express your "self" to get there. I work from a strength-based perspective and have been providing individual, couple, teen focused counselling in various clinical settings for over 34 years. My specialties include: anxiety and stress management, trauma, improving communication, interpersonal conflict, men's issues and assisting individuals in developing personal strategies to create a new life balance.
In my counselling approach I focus on your personal strengths and resourcefulness, and less on your sense of weakness or shortcomings. My approach will assist you in developing a positive mindset that will help you build on your existing best qualities, discover your strengths, improve resilience and change your view to one that is more positive.
I use talk therapy and in this process I'll be encouraging you to share your story based on your personal experience. The goal is for you to recognize that you already have the skills and strength to overcome the challenges that you are experiencing. We will explore strategies that are practical for you and your life circumstances.
